Sierra College Earth Day Celebration

April 24 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm PDT

From the organizer:

Earth Day is an international celebration observed on April 22nd each year to demonstrate support for environmental conservation, preservation, stewardship, and reciprocity. Celebrated in over 193 countries, Earth Day serves as a reminder that our planet sustains all life and deserves our collective care. While the modern Earth Day celebration began in 1970, cultures around the globe have honored the Earth and its gifts for millennia.
This year’s theme, Our Power – Our Planet!, highlights the critical relationship between sustainable energy and environmental health. We aim to explore the transformative power of renewable energy, conservation practices, and community action in addressing climate change and restoring ecosystems. The theme also emphasizes the incredible power individuals and communities possess to drive meaningful change through collective action, advocacy, and sustainable practices. Join us to learn how we can harness our collective power to create a sustainable future for our planet.
The Sierra College Earth Day celebration, organized by the Environmentally Concerned Organization of Students (ECOS) Club, the Associated Students of Sierra College (ASSC), and the Earth Day Committee, has been a cornerstone of campus life for over three decades. The event will feature interactive booths, workshops, keynote speakers, and community partner exhibitions, all centered on education and action.
Call to Action:
Let’s unite our power to protect and restore our planet! Mark your calendars for April 24, 2025, and join Sierra College for a meaningful day of learning, connection, and action. Together, we can create a sustainable future for generations to come.
