“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.”
Sun Tzu
Democrats lost the House in 2022 by only 6,675 votes. That amounts to about .006 percent of the 107 million votes casts. If those votes had been spread strategically across five selected districts, we would have the House majority and Rep. Jeffries would be speaker. Jim Jordan wouldn’t be a committee chair. Duarte, in CA 13, won by 564 votes, Maloney NY-17 lost by 1,820 votes, and other close races. What a difference that would have made. The GOP in the House is hell-bent on pursuing a MAGA agenda.
As you (may have) read in a previous (Indivisible) e-mail, Indivisible national is targeting the Unrepresentative 18. Republicans that won in districts Biden carried. Swing Left and Activate America are adopting similar strategies. The other part of the strategy is to start NOW by letting voters know about the reactionary voting of their GOP representatives as well as highlighting the good that Democrats have done for the American people.
Swing Left also had two more strategic targets. First, to gain the majority in the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Mission accomplished! The next is to keep the majority in the Virginia Senate and flip the House. This election will be in a few months and Vote Forward will have letters to send for this effort for 13 vulnerable state districts.
You can see that there are a number of districts that are targeted by all of the three organizations we work with. Activate America and Swing Left might pick up other targets in the future. We have already done postcards to flip Valadao and Garcia. Stay tuned for our next action.
